Compared to conventional medium-format digital cameras, the GFX is astonishingly lightweight and compact, and its dust and weather resistant body gives it the durability required for outdoor shoots. A collection of accessories that meet the needs of photographers, including a vertical battery grip and a rotary adapter that can rotate the detachable electronic viewfinder to any angle to suit any scene will be launched at the same time. The design and manufacturing expertise nurtured over many years of FUJINON lens development has been used to produce lenses with the world’s highest level of image resolution. Unique to the new GFX, Fujifilm has developed a new “G Mount” with a short flange back distance of just 26.7mm, an advantage of the mirrorless camera system. The company will release mirrorless digital camera FUJIFILM GFX 50S which features the FUJIFILM G Format 43.8 . 32.9mm sensor with 51.4 megapixels and six lenses that will be introduced under the new FUJINON GF Lens series of interchangeable lenses after early 2017 sequentially for professional photographers and photo enthusiasts. The latest and the most advanced addition is the new medium-format mirrorless camera GFX. It uses the new large-diameter “G Mount” and incorporates a large 43.8 . 32.9mm CMOS sensor. Boasting the effective pixel count of 51.4 million, the camera delivers superior sharpness and image quality that will satisfy professional photographers shooting commercial, fashion or fine-art landscapes. The sensor’s 51.4 megapixels can be adapted to various aspect ratios, including 4:3 (default), 3:2, 1:1, 4:5, 6:7 and 6:17, which were available in film cameras of the large- and medium-formats. The camera uses the “X-Processor Pro” imaging processor, which provides Fujifilm’s outstanding color and tone reproduction at an extremely high level. The result is the ultimate capability in photographic expressions that only Fujifilm can deliver thanks to its extensive knowledge in medium-format cameras and large-format films.
(2) Mirrorless camera system with a large sized sensor
The GFX is an all-new mirrorless camera system that revolutionizes the concept of medium-format cameras. Compared to conventional medium-format digital SLR cameras, the GFX is lighter weight, achieving a far more compact form factor. With regards to functionality, the camera follows in the footsteps of the X Series by featuring numerous physical buttons and dials, and is designed with an ergonomic grip, shaped carefully and optimized for the camera body and lenses. This model becomes Fujifilm’s Professional-use Mirrorless Camera System “GFX” 3/4 first model to use a detachable electronic viewfinder, which you can remove when using an external monitor or wanting to make the system even lighter. In addition, an optional adapter makes it possible to fit the EVF in any angle, giving greater freedom in the choice of shooting angle. Other optional accessories that will be released at the same time, include the Vertical Battery Grip, which enhances functionality when shooting in the portrait orientation. The camera also supports tethered shooting, which has become an essential part of the professional photographers’ workflow, and will be compatible with various RAW conversion application software.
(3) New lenses with a new lens mount for added descriptive performance
A new lineup of FUJINON GF lenses, designed specifically for the GFX, supports the new G Mount. Taking advantage of the mirrorless system’s structure, the G Mount has the short flange back distance of just 26.7mm to shorten the back focus distance as much as possible. This prevents vignetting to achieve edge-to-edge sharpness of the world’s highest level. The initial lineup on launch is to include the following six lenses:
1. Standard prime “GF63mmF2.8 R WR” (equivalent to 50mm in the 35mm format)
2. Wide-angle standard zoom “GF32-64mmF4 R LM WR” (equivalent to 25-51mm in the 35mm format)

The lenses feature an aperture ring, a popular feature in the X Series, and have the new C (Command) Position on the ring to enable aperture adjustments with the Command Dial on the camera body. All the lenses feature dust and weather resistant construction that withstands operation at temperatures as low as minus 10 degrees Celsius, allowing you to take them outdoors with peace of mind. Ever since Fujifilm announced their first model in the X-series in 2011, the camera system has been evolving at quite a pace. The number of interchangeable lens cameras in the X-series now stands at eight models, and there’s a healthy range of 19 premium XF lenses to choose from – a far cry from the three optics that were initially available with the release of the X-Pro1. Today, it’s the X-Pro2 that claims the title of being the flagship model in the line-up; however it’s the introduction of the Fujifilm X-T2 that seems to have generated the most interest among admirers and users of the X-series.Unlike it’s digital rangefinder-style sister models, the X-T2 is more in keeping with the shape and style of a conventional DSLR……
The Fujinon XF 50-140mm f/2.8 R LM OIS WR is one of two lenses we received with Fujifilm’s X-T2 camera body. Announced on 10 September, 2014, when fitted to the X-T2 this lens has a focal length equivalent to 76-213mm in 35mm format and a constant f/2.8 maximum aperture (which is equivalent to f/4.2 in 35mm format) throughout the zoom range. Twenty dust- and spray resistant seals give this lens the same levels of environmental protection as the X-T2 camera used for this review. The optical design of this lens is complex, consisting of 23 glass elements in 16 groups, with five ED (extra-low dispersion) lens elements and one Super ED lens element that Fujifilm says is ‚comparable to a fluorite lens‘. Proprietary HT-EBC (High Transmittance Electron Beam Coating) has been applied to all the lens surfaces……
I feel that it is important to have a sense of gratitude with the work that we’ve done. However if you really want to take your photography to the next level, you need to not be satisfied. Not being satisfied is what helped push the human race forward. If we were all satisfied with horses and carriages, we would never have developed electric cars and rocketships.I often look back at my old work (which I thought was great) — and then I wonder, “What was I thinking?”…..
Announced on 7 July, Fujifilm’s X-T2 interchangeable-lens mirrorless camera follows in the steps of the X-T1 but brings higher resolution, improved autofocusing and superior movie recording capabilities to a camera with an SLR-like body design. Equipped with the same 24.3-megapixel X-Trans CMOS III sensor as the X-Pro2, it will sit beside that camera at the top of Fujifilm’s line-up. The new camera has a splash-resistant body made mainly from magnesium alloy. With sealing at 63 points to achieve a high level of resistance to dust and moisture, the X-T2 can operate in temperatures as low as -10 degrees Celsius, making it suitable for use in challenging conditions. No low-pass filter covers the image sensor, enabling Fujifilm to claim the camera can deliver ‚the highest performance in the history of X Series’…….

Nach dem erfolgreichen XF35mmF2 R WR bringt Fujifilm mit dem XF23mmF2 R WR eine zweite wetterfeste Festbrennweite mit mittlerer Lichtstärke auf den Markt. Ihre Kegelform prädestiniert diese kompakten Objektive für die X-Pro2, die Mehrzahl der Benutzer dürfte sie jedoch an weniger exotischen Kameras wie der X-T10, X-T1, X-E2 und X-T2 verwenden. Was Sie beim XF23mmF2 R WR erwartet – auch im Vergleich mit dem teureren XF23mmF1.4 R und der klassischen X100T –, verrät Ihnen unser kleiner Testbericht. Überraschung! Das neue XF23mmF2 R WR ist eigentlich gar kein 23mm-Objektiv. Tatsächlich verfügt es über einen Bildwinkel, der über den des teureren XF23mmF1.4 R (und den des in der X100-Serie fest eingebauten 23mm-Objektivs) etwas hinausgeht……
When the first rumoured specs of Fujifilm X-T2 became a public knowledge, I knew I am going to get it. I need a second body. I do own X100S but with fixed 23mm focal length it is not as versatile as I would like it to be. Camera with interchangeable lens is the way to go for me. Also, 23mm (35 equivalent) is not my favourite focal length either. 35mm (or nifty-fity in full frame world) is much more preferred as far as myself concerned. I still love the X100S but if X100T successor comes out, I won’t be buying it. Unless I win in lottery. I also skipped X-Pro2 although I was very intrigued by it. X-T2 would is a much better and more versatile camera for what I need. I am slowly getting into more video shooting and X-T2 video capabilities are superior to X-Pro2. No flip screen on X-Pro 2 was also a deal breaker for me. And lastly, I didn’t want to pay extra for optical viewfinder. I hardly ever used it on X100S. It makes no sense to me, it doesn’t fit my shooting style. If there was an X-E3, with flip screen and 4K video, that would be a whole different story altogether……..
For some time now I have been making a personal effort to capture Footscray as I see and experience it so that I can hopefully preserve my own memories of it. My time in Melbourne is quickly coming to an end due to our impending move to Oxford in January. Through my ~5 years living in Melbourne’s inner-west I have come to love the elements that make up this place, particularly my home suburb of Footscray. It has an incredibly rich cultural history that has served as a new home for migrants from all over the world and each culture has made its mark on the architecture, food, and character of this wonderful place. Unfortunately, as the area gentrifies I am sure some of the suburb’s history will be lost as the facades of streets and generations move on…….
Announced on 6 September, 2012, Fujifilm’s Fujinon XF 14mm f/2.8 R lens is an ultra-wide lens prime with an angle of view equivalent to a 21mm lens on a 35mm camera. Combining a wide angle of view with a relatively wide maximum aperture and minimal distortions, this lens is an attractive choice for landscape and architectural photographers. But the lack of weather sealing will reduce its appeal for some potential purchasers. The optical design of this lens is moderately complex for a prime lens, with 10 elements in seven groups. Two aspherical elements and three extra-low dispersion (ED) elements keep common aberration to a minimum. The lens is supplied with the normal front and end caps plus a petal-shaped hood made from rigid black plastic…….
