Beating Edinburgh’s Streets with the Fujifilm X100s | Rob Lowe

When I first had the notion to blog, my intentions were to always concentrate on the images that I create far more-so than the equipment that I use to create them. In the main, this is still true, however (you could sense that word coming, right?) sometimes, the equipment is actually important when it comes to creating images. How can that be ignored, you may well ask? As far as I am concerned, any camera that I use can help me to capture perfectly acceptable and sometimes, utterly wonderful shots and the only things that hold me back are my own level of talent or, interest in my subject. But sometimes, gear can hold you back. How often do you take that big, heavy D-SLR and lenses out on a photo-walk, for example? I stopped doing that a long time ago. The reasons for and, benefits of this switch have been discussed by us all for years now and, now that I am firmly in the mirrorless camp, I am free to go where I like and shoot without the encumbrance of a huge and weighty system and it truly is liberating……
