Can Fuji X-System replace my DSLR | Jim Gamblin

Across the internet one can find many postings and comments relating to this particular question.  It would be safe to say one of the main reasons for this is the size difference between DSLR’s and mirror less interchangeable lens camera systems. In regards the size, it was the main reason that, I even considered the move.  However my aim was not to replace my DSLR’s but to supplement my DSLR kit.  In order to support this choice, I did sell off a few rarely used lenses.  Do I miss those lenses?  Yes sometimes I do.  Though considering how much use they got vs. how much use my Fuji’s get then the answer would be no. Now that I am retired (or maybe semi-retired), the question now becomes do I need my DSLR’s.  With the arrival of the XT-1 and the 56mm f/1.2, I can now really put this to the test.  My most used lens (though not my favorite perhaps) in my Nikon DSLR mix is the 85mm f/1.4 AF-D.  As you can see from the designation of “D”, this is the older all metal version.  The same can be said about the D700 being an older generation.  The D3 and both 50mm Nikkor lenses were sold off in order to purchase the XT-1 and 56mm…….
