Cinematic/Film Noir at Clifton House | Richard Hurst

Saturday 5th April was a great day to test my new Fujinon 56mm f1.2 lens paired with my X-T1. The day, a shoot at Clifton Hill House in Bristol organised by the wonderful Sue Fyfe-Williams would cover the golden years of cinematic/film noir history with 4 models, Make-up artists, hair stylists and dress/set stylists. There was 4 themes – Cabaret, 1930′s Film Noir, 1940′s Film Noir and Barbarella. Lighting and instruction throughout the day was provided by Damien Lovegrove and his assistant. Myself and 7 other photographers were put into pairs and we rotated each set throughout the day guiding the wonderful models on what we were looking to achieve. We had free rein to adjust the lighting to suit our requirements which was a great learning curve. Damien was always on hand for advice if we were struggling to get the look we were after. Big thank you goes out to all involved and I’m looking forward to the next event. Kit used: Fuji X-T1, 23mm, 35mm and 56mm Lenses…….
