TechCrunch Disrupt London 2015 | Dan Taylor

This gig was a bit of a departure from my normal duties, as TC wanted me on atmosphere, backstage, and the step-and-repeat wall. A nice change from being on stage duty where, to be honest, after a few hours the angles start looking all the same. Likewise, a departure in the sense that I decided to leave my regular DSLR Nikon’s in the bag and cover the event strictly with my Fuji X-T1 and Fuji X-Pro1. I paired the X-Pro1 with the18-55mm f/2.8-4, which gave me a ton of flexibility, and alternated between the 35mm f/2 and 56mm f/1.2 for the more intimate shots. TechCrunch’s East Coast Editor, John Biggs, now has a great new profile photo thanks to the Fuji X-T1 and 56mm combo. Using this combination, I was able to leave the rolling suitcase at home and traveled across town with nothing more than my laptop bag stuffed full of Fuji’s. I’d estimate a 75 percent weight reduction in the normal kit I carry…….
