First Impressions: FUJIFILM XF 100-400 LM OIS WR | Scott Bourne

The FUJIFILM XF 100-400 LM OIS WR Lens is a big, expensive, and specialized piece of gear. It has all the bells and whistles including what Fuji calls “five-stop” OIS, weather sealing, and twin linear motors. It is too big, too heavy and too expensive I suspect for many Fuji shooters. After all – photographers often tell me they switched to mirrorless to save space and weight along with money. But if you need this focal length for sports, wildlife, etc., it’s a great piece of news. And those of us who shot full-frame DSLRs with big, expensive, heavy full-sized telephotos will testify that while large, the FUJIFILM XF 100-400 LM OIS WR Lens is by no means too large especially when you consider what it competes with…….
