There is no doubt that the Cinque Terre are one the most sought after locations in the Italian Riviera and the one that attracts the most tourists, but that stretch of coastline that extends from Genoa to the gulf of La Spezia has many gems that are less known, but not even one bit less charming. From Genoa to Camogli, Portofino, Portovenere, Lerici and Tellaro it’s a long string of quaint seaside villages with pastel-colored houses, rocky cliffs, small beaches and lush vineyards on the mountainsides dropping steeply into the sea. The photo  above depicts Boccadasse. Would you believe that what was once a small fishing port is now completely enclosed in the city of Genoa? Despite being circled by a high-traffic road and a busy neighborhood, it has managed to retain its centuries-old charm and car-free tranquillity…….
