
X100S vs. 27mm ƒ/2.8 | Fuji vs. Fuji
Possibly one of the most asked about comparisons before the 23mm ƒ/1.4 was announced was how the FUJIFILM X100S with its fixed 23mm ƒ/2 lens stacked up against the FUJINON XF 27mm ƒ/2.8 on an X-E1 (or X-E2). Fuji fans wanted to know—in order to get such a small camera package—did they need to buy an X100S, or would they be ok to add the 27mm ƒ/2.8 to their current body? The interchangeable lens and body combination is quite similar in size to the X100S (assuming one is using an X-E1 or X-E2), and slightly lighter at 428g compared to 445g for the X100S. Given the FUJINON 23mm ƒ/2 lens has been honed to work as well as possible with its conjoined body, there are bound to be differences in in how these two packages perform……
