Detroit Zoo | Kevin Fedde

My wife and I headed to visit her family in the Detroit area over Christmas, which didn’t leave a lot of opportunities for me to take photos. Fortunately we managed to get to the Detroit Zoo for a few hours, though, so I could satisfy my need to take photos. I decided to limit myself a little bit photographically by only bringing 2 cameras with 2 prime lenses so I had to think about my framing a lot more than if I had brought my zoom lenses. Really good idea. Didn’t even bring a bag with other stuff in it, so I wasn’t tempted by my zoom lenses. Just my cameras on my shoulders and a couple extra batteries/cards in my pocket. We started off going straight for the butterfly exhibit, because butterflies are awesome, we don’t have a lot here in North Dakota, and it was the one right after you enter the park. I ended up with probably 250 photos from just inside there since I was shooting at 8 fps as I was following the butterflies around. I think I managed to get a couple that I really like, such as this one……..
