Shooting with the 50mm Focal Length | Matt McCord

I want to write for a minute about shooting with the famed 50mm focal length. The 50mm is nothing new. Photographers the world over have used it to create amazing images that give one that „normal“ focal length. In my opinion, the focal length has its pros and cons.

Pros:

  • Light/Small
  • Inexpensive
  • Fast aperture
  • Sharp

Cons:

  • The normal focal length can become boring to some
  • That’s really all I can think of. More on that later……..
